Praia da Luz:
Situated in the western Algarve 50 kms from the rugged lands end of Europe, Cape St. Vincent, the soft sandy beach is bordered by cliffs on one side and flat rock formations on the other. Bathing is clean and safe and water sports are available. During the winter and early Spring, “surf is up” offering excellent rollers for boarding. Nightlife is quiet with a handful of bars, a night club, and a cinema. There are a large selection of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. Whilst Luz has many good ones, there are many more waiting to be found in Lagos, and by the more adventurous in the villages away from the coasts. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets in the town. Supermarket Baptista is the largest and the nearest, with a well-stocked selection and excellent meat and seafood.
Lagos:
6kms away from Luz is the old capital of the Algarve. With its narrow cobbled streets and wealth of historic charm, from walking, shopping, eating, drinking and partying, it offers something for everyone.
